  • If you are prescribed 1200 Kcal,1400 Kcal, 1600 and 1800; you can consume: 3/4 katori
  • If you are prescribed 2000 Kcal, you can consume: 1 katori
  • 4 cups ladyfinger (bhindi)
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 whole green chillies, finely chopped (optional)
  • 4 tsp mustard oil

Dry Spices

  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp fenugreek seeds
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • Use minimal amount of salt
  1. Wash the ladyfingers under running water and allow them to dry. 
  2. Peel onion and garlic, wash along with green chillies. Slice the green chillies and cut the ladyfinger lengthwise.
  3. Roughly chop the onion and garlic and grind it into a paste.
  4. In a pan, heat ½ tsp of mustard oil. Sauté the lady fingers for 4-5 minutes. Remove them and keep them aside.
  5. Now, add the remaining mustard oil to the pan. Add the fenugreek seeds and let them splutter. Add the onion-garlic paste and cook the mixture thoroughly until it turns golden.
  6. Now, add the chopped green chilli, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt. 
  7. Mix thoroughly and cook for two minutes. 
  8. Now, add the sautéed lady fingers and mix well. Cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes.
  9. Serve hot with multigrain rotis.
