- 1 cup lettuce/ cabbage, finely chopped
- 1.5 medium tomatoes, cut into dice sized pieces
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 5-6 black peppercorns
- 3 tsp lemon juice
- Peel onion, wash lettuce/green cabbage and tomato thoroughly. Chop tomatoes into small dice sized pieces and slice the onions.
- Heat water in a saucepan and bring it to a medium simmer. Cover the pan with a strainer and carefully place the greens inside.
- Place the strainer over the boiling water and continue to steam-cook the leaves for 2-3 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix the steamed lettuce or cabbage, diced tomatoes, and sliced onions.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper over the salad as per taste.
- Gently mix it well.
- Serve as a healthy snack.
