  • 1 cup lettuce/ cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1.5 medium tomatoes, cut into dice sized pieces
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 5-6 black peppercorns
  • 3 tsp lemon juice
  1. Peel onion, wash lettuce/green cabbage and tomato thoroughly. Chop tomatoes into small dice sized pieces and slice the onions.
  2. Heat water in a saucepan and bring it to a medium simmer. Cover the pan with a strainer and carefully place the greens inside. 
  3. Place the strainer over the boiling water and continue to steam-cook the leaves for 2-3 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the steamed lettuce or cabbage, diced tomatoes, and sliced onions. 
  5. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the salad as per taste.
  6. Gently mix it well. 
  7. Serve as a healthy snack.
