I am Dr. Anudeep PP, currently working as a Senior Resident in the Department of Biochemistry at AIIMS, New Delhi. I completed my MBBS from Government Medical College, Calicut (2011-2017) and pursued an MD in Biochemistry from AIIMS Bhubaneswar (2019-2022). During my postgraduate studies, particularly while focusing on metabolism, I developed a deep and lasting interest in metabolic-related disorders such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. As biochemistry research continues to advance, our understanding of the mechanisms behind these disorders has greatly improved, offering new insights into both their pathogenesis and potential treatments. Despite this wealth of knowledge, I have noticed that the practical application of these scientific advancements in managing non-communicable diseases (NCDs) remains underutilized, especially in India, where the prevalence of these conditions is on the rise. I believe that by better integrating the latest biochemical research into public health strategies, we can significantly reduce the incidence of these diseases. I am passionate about exploring how dietary modifications, like adapting the Mediterranean diet for the Indian population, can play a crucial role in mitigating the inflammatory processes linked to these disorders and improving health outcomes.
