I am a passionate clinical nutritionist with a PhD in nutrition from the University of Delhi. I am also a certified diabetes educator (CDE) from Max hospital, Saket and a trained Low FODMAP nutritionist for management of IBS from the Monash University, Australia. I have a keen interest in the role of nutrition therapy in treatment and management of health disorders such as hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, PCOS, hypothroidism etc. Nutrition therapy in heart diseases has always been close to my heart. During my doctorate degree, I have worked extensively towards effective management of cholesterol, blood pressure and weight through therapeutic lifestyle changes. The outcomes of my project have inspired me to approach disease conditions related to the heart with comprehensive nutrition therapy i.e. personalized diet plans and detailed counselling based on in-depth assessment of patient’s nutritional status and underlying issues.
As a part of this research study, I have joined efforts to analyse the constituents of the Mediterranean diet and identified commonalities and suitable substitutes within Indian cuisine to create a comparable anti-inflammatory diet.
